Muddy Acres

Muddy Acres is the homestead of Jacob Mudd and his wife Faye Adams-Eaton. Based in Caneyville, Kentucky, Muddy Acres is a market farm in the making. This is the first year that they will be selling to the public with exciting harvests from their permaculture based pursuits. Their garden is built on natural contours, employing heavy mulch and the no-till method. This style of farming allows them to build soil quality and reduce the need for irrigation on what was originally a heavy clay soil slope. Additionally five new 150ft long contour swales built over 1 acre help them manage the water that comes onto the land and will eventually be expanded into a silvopasture system that combines livestock, annuals and perennial fruit and nut trees.
